If you’ve recently attempted to escape the Underworld as Zagreus, the Prince of Hades, you’ll quickly realize the importance of seeking assistance. Your weapons play a crucial role in achieving success during your escape endeavors, so optimizing their potential significantly improves your chances of victorious runs. If you haven’t explored Hades yet, consider acquiring a Hades CD key to embark on your journey.
Titan Blood, a scarce currency, serves as the primary means to unlock Weapon Aspects, bringing about substantial changes to your weapon’s behavior. For instance, Coronacht, The Heart-Seeking Bow, transforms its special command from a standard shotgun flurry to a hostile-homing barrage.
With that in mind, here are some strategies to swiftly earn Titan Blood in Hades.
SPOILER ALERT: Beyond this point, expect extensive details on massive boss battles, weapons, and lore. If you haven’t completed an escape and wish to avoid spoilers, it’s advisable to pause here!
Here are various approaches to obtain Titan Blood. The most dependable method involves unlocking the Pact of Punishment, achievable after at least one successful escape. However, early players have a few opportunities to enhance their weapons and progress towards their initial successful run.
The Wretched Broker – (okay method)
Periodically, you have the option to exchange special items accumulated during your escape attempts with the Wretched Broker in the cafeteria. The broker offers a variety of items, including Titan Blood. While this method may not be the most efficient for acquiring Titan Blood, as the items you trade are likely to be valuable, it remains a viable option.
Bribing Cerberus in the Temple of Styx – (trash method)
An alternative option is to purchase Titan Blood from Charon’s shop just before facing Hades. A rare item consistently appears in the shop for around 1000 coins, and on occasion, that item will be Titan Blood.
However, let’s face it—how frequently do you find yourself reaching Cerberus with a whopping 1200 coins? This approach is suitable for those with the skill and discipline to resist buying health and boons, as well as resisting the allure of enticing encounter perks in Charon’s cauldron. If you possess such restraint, this strategy might be the right fit for you.
Boss battles – (THEE method)
Upon defeating each boss, a rare item is awarded:
- Titan Blood: Obtained from The Furies (Megaera, Tisiphone, and Alecto)
- Diamond: Rewarded by defeating Hydra
- Ambrosia: Earned after overcoming Theseus and Asterius
- Titan Blood (again): Granted upon defeating Hades
The caveat is that each rare item can only be obtained once per weapon. For instance, if you defeat the Hydra twice using Aegis, the Shield of Chaos, you will receive a diamond only on your initial triumph over the multi-headed skeletal serpent.
Fortunately, Titan Blood serves as the initial rare item awarded, obtained after successfully defeating the Fury Sisters.
Post-Escape Titan Blood Hunt
If you’ve successfully made your way out of Hades, you’re likely aware of the compelling narrative that provides a meaningful incentive to continue escaping. (Kudos to the game’s talented writers!)
Following your initial escapes, Hades introduces the Pact of Punishment to intensify the challenge in your subsequent runs. How does this factor into the process of farming Titan Blood?
The Titan Blood Farm – Pact of Punishment
Every time you increase the Heat level (indicating difficulty based on factors like time limits, enhanced enemy damage, and new boss move cycles), the rare items available from each boss reset for all your Infernal Arms.
Once you’ve completed a run with Stygius at 0 Heat, you won’t receive any more rare items at that level. However, increasing the Heat Gauge by 1 allows you to obtain all the rare items again.
This strategy enables you to repeatedly face Meg and her sisters, rapidly accumulating Titan Blood. Here’s a simple guide:
- Select a weapon.
- Initiate an escape.
- Raise the Heat Gauge by 1 when prompted; any option suffices as long as it increases by 1.
- Reach and defeat the Furies to collect Titan Blood.
- In your very next encounter with enemies, intentionally die (do not quit or give up to avoid losing progress; dying simply returns you to the House of Hades).
- Repeat the process with a different weapon, going through all the weapons before advancing to Heat Gauge 2.
By following these steps, you can fully level up your favorite (if not all) Infernal Arms, unlocking access to all the initial weapon aspects.
