According to a statement published by the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday, the federal government has declared a four-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr 2024 from May 2 to 5.

People wear new dresses and go to the mosque for praying on this day. The children are very excited to receive new clothes from their parents. On this day, almost all the shops remain open till late at night as they sell new clothes, shoes, cosmetics, and home decorative products at very reasonable prices.
The people enjoy this festival by decorating their houses with lights, balloons, flowers, etc. A huge amount of money is spent on the decoration of houses along with purchasing gifts for their loved ones as it is a sign of happiness to spend money on others during Eid Ul Fitr.

Muslims pray for Eid Al-Fitr, which is known as “Salat Al Eid” in Arabic. For Eid prayers, there is no loud call to prayer. Muslims will congregate in mosques or open locations to offer two “Rakat” units of prayer. Following the prayers, the imam delivers a speech in which he prays for forgiveness, mercy, and peace for all people everywhere.
